With roots in the Caribbean tropics of Belize, Sonnie Dean knows what it means to grow up in an environment where trauma and poverty are the norms. After being abandoned by their father, Sonnie was one of ten children left to be raised by their compassionate, hard working, determined mother. 

Sonnie’s earliest memories of poverty and watching how his mother met each challenge, planted the seeds for Me Is We community village, and his personal healing journey fertilized the soil. Through Shamanic Breathwork he began to excavate old traumas, release limiting beliefs, and experienced the spiritual healing that his soul had been yearning for. Sonnie realized the depths of his own traumas actually was a reflection of a greater problem, occurring not only throughout his home country, but the entire world. He remembered passionate promises he had made as a child to do whatever was necessary when the time was right, to ensure no child would ever have to endure the things he and his siblings endured. 

This spurred his passion for social impact, and the creation of Me Is We Social Impact Organization as well as its sister non-profit, The Menzies Philanthropic Foundation. He now works with a heart-centered team of professionals to create solutions for a healthier world. He strives to implement ancient ways of community while incorporating the newest regenerative technologies to create communities that support and prioritize individual healing & collective thriving.
